1. About the community
The ip2region implementation code and algorithms remain open source and free to use under the upstream Apache-2.0 OR MIT license terms.
The ip2region community is operated by the author of the open-source ip2region project together with its commercial operating entity. The platform provides stable IP commercial data services, including offline and online services where offered, and gives the community a place to improve IP-related tools and data services together.
2. Development
The community exists to support the growth of the ip2region project and the services around it. This includes cost-effective commercial IPv4 and IPv6 data products.
It also includes community-supported data services such as data corrections and update clients. These community services may not match the update depth of commercial data, but they help keep free data useful and moving forward.
3. Developer program
Contributors can help improve the project through code, documentation, and data feedback. Multi-year database discounts are shown on the products page and applied automatically at checkout.
More developers are welcome to contribute code, reports, documentation, and operational knowledge to the project.
